Went to see James at the Brixton Academy last night with Mosh, Nadia and J.
Dinner and wine before the gig set us up for fine evening of entertainment. The Brixton Academy is a great venue (and also very close to home) and was packed with people mainly around my age, which made a refreshing change.
Mosh went towards the front for a bit to hook up with a friend but despite being merely 10 people from the front and over six-foot tall he still couldn't see much and he said the sound was a bit rubbish. Glad I didn't too, I'm a foot shorter than him.
Fortunately the Academy has a sloping floor so if you stand near the back even short-arses like myself can see a bit of the stage. And the sound was fine.
Sit Down was an obvious highlight. Nobody sat down though which I think was a reflection of the state of the floor and the age of the audience. They did two encores.
Felt like a student again. Had a bit of a bop. Drank cider. Sang along. Waved my arms around. Didn't realise quite how pissed I was until I got home.
Mosh took some piccies on my phone for me and a brief video clip of Sit Down...
