I cut the dead heads off the pocket sunflowers that Alison bought me for my birthday to stop the petals falling on the floor and guess what? They sprouted new buds which have started blooming!
(OK I know this isn't unusual but I'm not an experienced grower of stuff so I was actually quite surprised)
The stems originally had one bud but now have sprouted several. They aren't as well formed as the originals but still pretty.
Wonder how long I can keep them blooming?
I've dried out the seeds of one of the original blooms and am hoping to grow some more.
Ooh I feel all horticultural.
