I know I've mention my disgust about the US remake of the superb Swedish film Let the Right One In before on Twitter but it's reared it's ugly head again.
This time the story is that Philip Seymour Hoffman might be in the film.
What gave the film that extra special bit of something is the fact that is was set against a fairly grim snowy Swedish-town backdrop, with relatively unknown actors and very little dialogue. It was the children's story and all the more atmospheric for it.
Hoffman is a great actor but I'm cringing as I type just to think what Hollywood will do with such a big name attached to what is a relatively small role. I'm also imagining the cutsey, Abigail Breslin-type kids they will put with him.
Don't go and see it. See the Swedish original.
