Really want to see the play Jerusalem before it finishes later this month but it is virtually sold out (you can either sit behind a pillar in the gods or pay the earth for a restricted view in a box). So as it's a bank holiday weekend and I'm not at work thought I'd get up early, walk into town and queue for the day seats. So off I trot with plans for a nice breaky served with a steaming hot cuppa once I'd scored a ticket.
Got to the theatre 50 mins before the box office was due to open and there was already a long queue. Too long to stand any chance of getting one of the 20 day tickets.
So off I trot to the half price ticket booth in Leicester Square in the vain hope that maybe, just maybe there might be a ticket. Waited in the cold and no, no ticket.
But there is a silver lining. No I didn't find a Jerusalem ticket blowing around on the street but I did see Ugly Betty being filmed in Trafalgar Square. I don't actually watch it anymore, having given up half way through the first series but I know who the actors are, so there was something sort of worthwhile in my early start, early walk and getting chilled to the bone after all.
